The Test Technician (Substation Apparatus) is responsible for executing advanced technical work involving the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of high-voltage substation equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure through comprehensive diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and corrective troubleshooting. Key responsibilities include performing specialized electrical and mechanical testing, interpreting technical drawings and manufacturer documentation, and maintaining accurate commissioning and maintenance records. The Test Technician collaborates closely with engineers and system operations personnel to support outage planning, equipment commissioning, and the energization of new installations. This role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a consistent commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Senior-level technicians may also provide leadership, mentorship, and technical training to developing team members.
This is an above-entry level position which includes installing high voltage equipment, metering and monitoring equipment and control and protection systems. Work may be outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Uses power tools and hand tools to install equipment and systems, such as wire terminations, high voltage equipment, overhead and underground electrical and conduit systems, steel structures, control panels, metering and protection systems, air switches. Requires successful completion of an Apprentice Electrician program and ability to travel and work in remote locations. Desire 3-5 years Journey level experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction. Experience with electronic or mechanical equipment, instrumentation and control experience, electrical substation or power generation experience, high voltage experience and/or experience working with testing equipment and troubleshooting.
The Compliance Inspector responsibilities include Overhead and Underground Electrical Distribution visual inspection. Compliance inspectors must be familiar with GO 95, GO 128 and GO 165 standards. The Compliance Inspector role will include some manual work elements including but not limited to: Lifting of Underground vault covers, minor repair work on wooden poles (not to exceed 8'), vault water pumping etc.
The Electrical Line Inspector job is responsible for overseeing the safe building and maintaining electric power lines, both distribution and transmission, to all relevant state, federal and client codes.
This position is represented by IBEW 1245.

The Journeyman Relay Protection Electrical Technician will perform installations, field testing, and maintenance of protective relay equipment, relay carriers, supervisory equipment, station apparatus, instruments, remote and local control devices and associated wiring.
The Relay Protection Electrical Technician will work on protective relays and associated equipment will ensure the efficient, safe, and reliable and NERC Reliability Standards compliant operation of generating plants and transmission networks. The Journeyman Relay Protection Electrical Technician will be responsible for performing work involving an extremely high degree of complexity, including troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, calibrating, and maintaining components of protective relay systems (microprocessor and electro-mechanical); substation and electric utility protection systems; station automation and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
Candidate must be proficient in understanding and deciphering electrical drawings/schematics station automation and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA).

CANUS inspects for visual pole integrity, asset management data discrepancies (including GPS location), cross arm angle and integrity, joint pole cable management, signage, vegetation clearance, insulator integrity, guy wire integrity, etc.
